2021: We all have fat days — Day 27
No matter who we are, what we look like and how we speak to ourselves — we all have fat days.
Yep it’s true, even the skinny woman you admire sometimes feels a bit flabby and that’s got nothing to do with her picking at her body (or it might), it’s just got to do with what’s happening in her body on that day, at that time.
We ate a yummy curry on Monday night, it was great.
We had left overs and because we’d had a big-ish day yesterday, we ended up eating the leftovers again.
Equally as yummy, but
Today we’ve been on the toilet more than normal — both Chris and I.
My belly is really swollen, I feel flabby in my hips and legs, but it’s ok.
It’s ok to feel this way.
It’s ok to have these days.
It’s like the ‘V’. Life is going well and you think you have this eating (insert whatever is relevant to you here — relationship, career, physical activity etc.) thing nailed — you’re at the top of the V.
Then life happens, you miss a day of exercise, or you have a disagreement with your partner or you eat a burger — that you wouldn’t normally, and you slip down the V.
You may get to the bottom of the V — and that’s ok, the trick is to not buy real estate. The trick is to keep moving, to stay curious and explore what’s happening for you. Look at where you’re uncomfortable, that’s often the thing you need to move through.
Get some help if you need, look at your thoughts — there are heaps of tools out there, and I’m happy to help.
Keep moving and start climbing to the other side of the V, back to the top.
You can do it.
Tomorrow is another day, and you get to explore it and keep evolving, because you will feel well again, just keep moving.
Today I’m proud of:
- not sleeping in and missing Soul Hour
- Allowing my body to be
- Exploring what my body needs and that swim with Teddy was great.
